Volvo Posts 26% Increase in Profits for Q2 2011

More and more people are turning to Volvo for their automotive needs, and at McKevitt Volvo, we're quite thrilled with the results. Specifically, the Swedish automaker has recently reported 26.6 percent increase in sales, and a profit of 600-million Swedish Kronor ($94-million).

Much of Volvo's success is being attributed to models like the Volvo S60 Sedan and the Volvo V60 Wagon in Europe. Regardless of what models are popular where, Volvo saw a market share increase in every market that their vehicles are represented in.

During the second quarter of 2011, Volvo was able to sell 129,919 vehicles in total. Compared to 2010's 97,884 units sold, it is easy to see that Volvo is on the rise. And, it becomes even more evident when you consider the whole year so far. In the first six months of 2011, Volvo sold 230,746 units, which marks a 30 percent increase from 2010.

"We are gradually returning to sustainable profitability although we have more work to do before we reach our objectives. A good sales increase is evident in many markets as we are working to revitalise the Volvo brand to attract more customers", says Stefan Jacoby, President and CEO, Volvo Car Corporation.1
