ICYMI: 2020 Volvo XC60 Earns Top Recognition from Edmunds.com

Sitting comfortably between nimble XC40 and highly accommodating XC90, the Volvo XC60 offers excellent crossover utility in an easy-to-maneuver footprint. With its elegant design, potent engine choices, and vast array of standard features, it's easy to see why it's one of Volvo's most popular models. Indeed, while many competitors seem content to reserve top amenities for the higher tiers, the XC60 includes many at the base level, including a Sensus infotainment system, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, a panoramic sunroof, leather upholstery, a power liftgate, and several advanced safety technologies.

Another attribute that gets a lot of attention is the XC60's available powertrain options. The T5 features a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 250 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. The T6 adds a supercharger, raising output to 316 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque.

However, the zippiest of the lineup and the subject of our headline, the T8 powertrain, is a plug-in hybrid that combines the Twincharger engine of the T6 with an electric motor, increasing both power and fuel efficiency. Total output climbs to 400 horsepower and 472 pound-feet of torque. The car experts at Edmunds.com selected the 2020 XC60 T8 to their list of Best Luxury Hybrids & Plug-Ins. Editors lauded the crossover's "snappy acceleration," noting that it's "properly quick in a straight line, so there's no issue getting up to highway speeds and maintaining them." Further praise was directed at the "exceptionally comfortable" seats, large 9-inch infotainment display, and the ability to travel 17 miles on electric power alone.

If you're seeking an elegant and sporty upgrade to your current ride in San Leandro, visit McKevitt Volvo Cars for a closer look at the Volvo XC60. We'll be happy to set you up with a test drive.
