Volvo has continuously designed the second generation of the XC60. Therefore, no substantial changes were needed for this mid-cycle upgrade. The Volvo XC60's design is best described as understated and unobtrusive. Its design is well balanced with few overhangs, a towering front, and a sharply sloping back end. Overall, the sophisticated and polished Scandinavian design is stunning.
Volvo's signature lighting feature, the Thor's Hammer DRL, is upfront. The headlight cluster has LED low and high beams, and the grille has been slightly modified. Volvo has removed only the projecting exhaust tip from the rear bumper. There is the instantly recognized vertical tail light arrangement that has come to be synonymous with Volvo. They are all LED lights now.
Performance
Volvo removed the supercharger from the previous T8 model. A brand-new 2.0-liter inline-four turbo has replaced it with 312 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. It has a more potent rear electric motor that produces 143 horsepower and 228 pound-feet of torque. The 2023 Volvo XC60 recharge is the fastest and most powerful Volvo crossover because it has a combined performance output of 455 horsepower and 523 pound-feet of torque.
The location of the battery pack in the middle ensures a smooth and dynamically balanced drive. It is simpler and has a lower center of gravity to switch from gas to electric engines. All-wheel drive is a standard feature on all variants, but with the XC60, you shouldn't stray too far from your route. In slippery environments, the AWD function will offer superior traction.
Technology
Every XC60 new model comes with a 9.0-inch touchscreen with a Google-based user interface. The features include over-the-air update capability. It also features Apple CarPlay, Google Maps navigation, Google Play app store use, and voice commands for the Google Assistant. A 12.3-inch, all-digital instrument cluster, and two front-row USB-C ports are also available as standard. Volvo offers a heads-up display and a 360-degree video system at higher trim levels. Volvo now provides a 14-speaker Bowers & Wilkins setup and a 15-speaker premium Harman Kardon audio system for higher trim levels.
Interior and Comfort
A premium-quality cabin with great functionality awaits you inside. Scandinavian design soft-touch plastic is used for all contact points. Additionally, compared to other European designs, the dashboard has fewer buttons. The second-row seats in the XC60 are some of the roomiest in their class. Your journey will, without a doubt, be comfortable. The cabin feels light and spacious, thanks to the panoramic sunroof. The cargo room on this XC60 Recharge is identical to the non-plugin model due to the battery's position.
